“Sparky“

SPARKY was truly a multi-purpose golden from our talented Winter litter. Before she was two years old, she had a sanctioned derby win, a Canadian Championship in only two weekends of showing with multiple BOS awards, both American and Canadian CDs, a Dog World Award, multiple HITs, and had placed in breed classes at the GRCA National and other specialties. Sparky then moved with us to Germany where we enjoyed volksmarches and Brittensport (a German dog sport that includes obedience, agility, and running).

While in Germany, Sparky became a search and rescue dog on the Karlsruhe ASB team (see far right photo above). For more information search and rescue dogs, check out the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation’s website.Upon her return to the United States, Sparky earned her CDX, JH, and UD in short order.  She also  earned her Senior Hunter in four straight tests. Finally, when she was 10 years old, Sparky got her Novice agility title in her (and Gayle’s) first three tests with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Although she had to be spayed before she could finish her American championship, Sparky was an excellent example of a working golden with a lovely front assembly, excellent rear angulation, and gorgeous side movement.
