Risk moved to Blacksburg, VA with Rosie, West Point Annie and Autumn. Risk will play all kinds of games--hunt tests, obedience, agility, tracking and maybe even conformation but for now she is focusing her efforts in the field. She debuted in field trials at the 2006 Golden Retriever National Specialty by JAMing the Derby stake. She and her brother, Roy, are our first two-star goldens. She earned her JH at 13 months of age and passed both the WC and WCX at the 2006 Golden Retriever National Specialty the next month. She's since finished her Senior Hunter (SH) in four straight tests at the age of 22 months and earned her first MH leg the weekend she finished Senior. She finished her MH on April 20, 2008, making her our first Master Hunter. One week later, Risk qualified for the 2008 Master National Retriever Championships. A huge thank you to our dear friend and co-owner, Rosie Higdon who has not only supported this dream since Risk's birth but also lived without this wonderful dog while she has been with the Miner's. Thank you, too, to John and Nancy Miner who have trained and handled Risk to her field titles and taken wonderful care of her during the time she has been with them.
