Raz moved in with the Hedderman's in Massachusetts. She is proving to be quite precocious and has already been out duck and pheasant hunting. She's even checked out some geese. At home, she is a companion to the kids and the rest of the family. Here are some excerpts from Mike's reports:

"Another duck was shot which landed in some tall marsh grass 30 yard up wind from us. I sent her, she bolted in the direction I sent her got a nose full of the duck raced over and..... picked the thing up (a full body grip, not a wing drag) ran back and sat on my foot with the duck! WOW! 7 months and she makes her first blind retrieve.

"It was another stunning day for Miss Raz. I took her up north to hunt pheasants at a hunting preserve. We were the guests of a friend of mine. He brought his black lab to hunt with us. Raz was unbelievable. She retrieved pheasants shot behind the lab, flushed pheasants, 8 in total, quartered and worked the field in front of me instead of following at my heels. She was absolutely gorgeous amid the briars and snow. She retrieved all birds to hand and found birds that were crippled but running."
