Quar was the grandfather of our first dog, Dream, and the sire of her second litter. The last Dual Champion golden retriever, Quar was from the second breeding of Elmer and Chick. This combination produced three FC-AFCs in addition to Quar, including FC-AFC Tigathoe's Chickasaw, the all-time high-point golden bitch and 1972 all-breed National Derby Champion, FC-AFC Tigathoe's Kiowa II, the 1972 #2 all-breed Derby dog, and FC-AFC Tigathoe's Tonga.
Quar was the 1973 National Derby Champion, just ahead of his brother Ki. He produced American and Canadian champions, utility dogs and many two- and three-star dogs. His son, Am. Ch Almaden Sundowner Sequoia UD WC KH was also a working search and rescue dog.
