Trader moved to Long Island with Sandy and his uncle Royal. He is proving to be a very talented performer in both obedience and agility. He finished his CD at 20 months, with placements and earned his first CDX leg with a 4th place. He went on to finish his CDX before his second birthday, with a 198 and High in Trial on his bumper leg. He finished his UD in short order before he was 2 1/2, taking three 1st placements, his UDX, UDX2 and UDX3 soon thereafter. He then finished his OTCH with a 199 and a 1st out of Open B. He has more than ten High in Trial awards, tied for High Combined at the Golden Retriever National Specialty in 2008 and is a member of the GRCA’s Obedience Dog Hall of Fame. In the Fall of 2009, he finished his UDX4 and his OM2.
In agility, Trader has his Master Agility Championship, qualified for the GRCA Agility Dog Hall of Fame and qualified for the 2011 AKC Agility National Championships. He is focused on course and his love of agility is clear to all that watch him. Though he is a good sized dog, he is agile and fast.
In addition to being a working dog, Trader is lovely to look at. He earned his Certificate of Conformation Assessment (CCA) on his first attempt from breeder-judges, Laurie Doumaux, Janice Provenzano and Beth Gerevics. He has a masculine head with a lovely, intelligent and eager expression. He is nicely balanced front to rear with good angulation and layback up front and lots of power in the rear. He has a strong topline wiht a correct tail set and carriage.
Trader has moderate substance and a wash and wear coat. He stands just shy of 23 inches and weighs 65 lbs. He is medium gold with a dark eye, brown pigment and a correct scissors bite (though is missing his lower left premolar).
Trader has a flawless temperament; he gets along well with other dogs and all people. He is friendly and stable. He loves to work and learns easily. Trader is OFA Good with normal elbows, eyes and heart. He is available at stud to approved bitches. For more information, contact his owner Sandy Washburn.
